Weekly Progress Sep. Week 1

This week I have lost a total of 5 lbs. I am very excited that I am staying healthy and getting in shape. Part of my routine is cardio everyday and lifting. I also make out one day that I can do some other physical activity. Which of course was basketball. I have been taking weight loss shakes for breakfast and salads or other healthy options for lunch and dinner. I do not allow myself to buy ramen nor keep it in my room. I have based my meal plan on 1,000 to 1,200 calories per day. I believe that I can get to my goal weight faster if I just stay away from any junk food or fast food.  I will be posting a new recipe this weekend while I am home for a healthy holiday treat!

College Fitness

Starting college this week has been fun but also tiring. I am putting a timer every other day to post about my healthy eating, the workouts I am doing and how I am staying healthy in college. So far from my first week I can say this: It is hard to eat healthy in college. Going to your local grocery store or Walmart is a must. I keep my room full of healthy snacks so that I won't fall into temptation and find myself going to the convenient store ( which isn't convenient if you are trying to eat healthy.) right across the street from my dorm on campus. I work early mornings and some days in the late afternoon so I don't always have time to eat lunch or dinner. I always keep a Quest bar or a Protein shake with me so that when hunger strikes around breakfast, lunch, or dinner time, I don't go without.    I will be using my Instagram pages to publish my fitness journey also while I am here at college. I will post regular recipes for home and "healthy" m...

"Sweet" Puffs Recipe

Image
Sweet puffs recipe. It was very good. Completely sugar free and is 10 calories each puff if you make them big like these.  Ingredients:  5 egg whites Stevia  Vanilla Cinnamon  How to:  Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat your egg whites with hand mixer. This will take a while but you have to be patient with them to fluff.  After egg whites are fluffed and thick, add about 5-10 stevia packets. Or to your sweetness level you like.  Add 1 tsp of cinnamon.  Add 1/2 tsp of vanilla  Use your hand mixer again to mix in ingredients for 1 minute.  Put on cookie sheet non stick or oiled. Spread apart some because they will expand. Put in oven for 12 minutes. Until brown on top. Other ovens may vary.  Let cool for 5 minutes.  Eat and enjoy!

Turkey Mozzarella Filled Meatballs

Image
Meal prepping is usually my biggest pet peeve. If I can't have it planned out then we have a problem especially when it comes to lunch and there's a time crunch. I love being able to have a good meal but not rice and chicken and broccoli everyday like you see in some plans. So I try to explore ideas and recipes to try to keep myself going and switch it up. Last week I made turkey meat balls with mozzarella stuffed in it and whole wheat pasta with hearty tomato sauce. It was so good!  Recipe •ground turkey meat: 1 pack  •shredded or string mozzarella: your desire  •spinach diced  :1/8 cup  •kale diced :1/8 cup •muffin or cup cake tin (I do this to measure portions)  •seasoning salt: 1tsp  •minced garlic : 1 tsp •Garlic salt:1 tsp  Preheat oven to 425-450 Put meat in bowl and mix all ingredients except cheese in bowl.  In hand get meat and put in hand insert cheese into middle of it and then roll into a ball  Put in each cupcake in the cup...

Broccoli and Cheese Patties Recipe

Image
I have been seeing different broccoli and cheese recipes all over Pinterest but never have I found a healthy substitute for my broccoli and cheese casserole I love so much. Finally I took it upon myself to put my favorite veggie in a quick, easy and healthy recipe. I have calculated and all of this recipe would be around 300 calories. Also it  feeds my cravings for the calorie filled casserole.       Ingredients include:  1 Broccoli Florets cooked (I prefer steam bags for mine)  1/4 cup flour ( I use wheat flour but I have also used all purpose and it both works great and tastes great) 1 large egg  1/4-1/2 cup of shredded cheese of choice. Olive Oil       How To: 1. Cook your broccoli and put into blender. Also add 1 large egg and blend until broccoli and egg is blended well. 2. Add broccoli and  egg blend to bowl. 3. Add cheese and flour to the egg and broccoli mix. Hand mix until i...

Time for beach body

Image
This year I have worked hard to maintain my fitness and keep my weight off. The past 2 weeks I have began to start to lose weight again. Summer is right around the corner and its time to push my body to new limits and get the beach body I deserve. I refuse to be the girl in her t shirt and basketball shorts this year. I have began picking up on extra cardio and ab routines. Along with a diet that will help me shred the last bit of tummy fat.  I started extra workouts targeting my mid section and lower body the past two weeks. I can already see changes in my stomach and how much better it is beginning to look. I will soon be posting my ab workout and how I got results the way I did.  The first picture at the top is from a month ago and the second picture is 2 weeks in. My current picture is the bottom and I am beginning to show some progress. I am excited to begin this and start being the healthy confident girl in a bikini!
